Liquid/Dye Penetrant Testing Services
What Is Liquid/Dye Penetrant Testing
Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT), also known as Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method that excels in revealing surface-breaking flaws.
How It Works
LPT/DPT process consist:
- A liquid penetrant, typically a vivid dye, is applied to the material’s surface.
- Capillary action draws the penetrant into any surface-breaking defects.
- Excess penetrant is removed, leaving only the dye within the flaws.
- A developer is then applied, which pulls the penetrant out, creating a visible indication of the defect.
LPT/DPT Application
Masterscan’s LPT / DPT is ideal for inspecting:
- Welds
- Pipes
- Bars
- And other critical materials where surface integrity is paramount.
Advantages of Choosing LPT / DPT
